Benedict, receiving rabbis at Castelgandolfo
On September 15, 2005, Benedict XVI received rabbis at the papal summer residence of Castelgandolfo. Present were representatives of two sects of Judaism, Sephardic rabbi Shlomo Amar and Ashkenazi rabbi Yona Metzger.
They went to offer a gift to Ratzinger and pressure him to declare October 28, the day of Nostra aetate's promulgation, as a universal day against anti-semitism for Catholics.
Identifying the Conciliar Church with Judaism seems to be a persistent aim of the present day Popes since John XXIII abolished the final prayers of the Mass for the conversion of the Jews from their perfidy.
