Leo Weak on Sexual Ethics Teachings
Hello TIA,
Re: Pope Leo signals shift away from Catholic Church's focus on sex
What message is Leo sending to his sheep now?
Not important if you are in an extramarital relationship, not important if your children have embraced the LGBT agenda or even become sodomites. Not important if you are wearing immodest clothing. The list goes on.
It seems to me these are the questions that should be top priority to address and not shift away from if you care about the sanctification of Catholics.
Truly this makes me sick.

Pope Leo signals shift away from Catholic Church's focus on sex
Joshua McElwee
VATICAN CITY, April 27 (Reuters) - Pope Leo's four-nation Africa tour featured firm denunciations by the pontiff of despotism and war and also unprecedented attacks from U.S. President Donald Trump that grabbed headlines.
But a smaller moment, in which the pope said the Catholic Church should priorities questions of inequality and justice over those of sexual ethics, may prove to be of longer-lasting importance for the Church's 1.4 billion members, said experts.
"The unity or division of the Church should not revolve around sexual matters," Leo, the first U.S. pope, said in a press conference on his flight home on Thursday.
"I believe there are much greater and more important issues such as justice, equality... that would all take priority before that particular issue," he said.
Marianne Duddy-Burke, executive director of Dignity USA, a group that supports LGBTQ Catholics, called the pope's remarks "a very significant and overdue reorientation of priorities".

Mexico’s Schools Teach Witchcraft
Dear TIA,
Salve Maria,
This piece of news was passed on to me a while ago by a friend. These various videos [here, here, here and here] expose how Mexico’s federal curriculum for public schools includes material teaching witchcraft and anti-Catholicism, including telling children to place crucifixes in their home upside down.
The scandal caused so much outrage that even AP News and other “fact-checkers” had to do damage control.
If only Mexican Catholics would stand up and fight the Revolution as explained by Prof. Plinio on all fronts, like they did in the Cristero War… This Counter-Revolution is certainly as noble cause as the Cristero War, since the Revolution’s scope and reach is still broader and therefore much more damaging. I pray for this to happen.

Pius XII & the Secret of Fatima
Dear Friends in Jesus & Mary,
In your article, "Mysteries around the Two Sister Lucys" by Homer Sweeney, he states:
"Pius XII received the secret [Third Secret of Fatima] in April 1957 and never opened it."
There is, I believe, reliable evidence that Pius XII had an unpublicized reading of the Third Secret of Fatima in May 1957 with various prelates, one of them the American Cardinal Stritch, who indirectly told 2 priests two parts of it.

La Conquistadora in New Mexico
Dear Marian,
I just read the beautiful story of the "Unwilling Statue" statue of Our Lady taken from San Juan Capistrano to San Gabriel Mission.
As you know, Santa Fe has the beautiful statue of Our Lady who was brought from Spain in 1626. As you also know, she has had many adventures - she s been stolen, been in a fire and traveled to and from Mexico. She also has many beautiful dresses and capes made for her by those who are devoted to her.
How I wish I could sew as I would love to make her a gown.
When we first moved here I would go visit her often, light candles and pray for her intercession. There used to be benches in the alcove where she resides but they were removed a few years ago. I haven’t been to see her for a long time because even if I am kneeling saying a rosary, the irreverence is intolerable and makes me angry and sad.
What I want to tell you is that once is year there is a procession where she is taken to Rosario Chapel for a short time, a few weeks. What is interesting is I have heard that when she is being brought back to the Cathedral, she becomes very heavy.
Have you heard this? Well I just wanted to share. Oh another thing, years ago I had a statue of Our Lady of Good Success made to donate to Mel Gibson s chapel. Of course, I had to ask first if they would accept it, they said yes but she would be placed in the library which is in the basement, I said fine but thought to myself that I would pray. As it turned out she is in the church - not the basement. She decides where she wants to be.
Bless you,
M.N.
Dr. Horvat responds :
Dear M.N.,
I am glad you enjoyed the charming story of the miraculous statue of San Juan Capistrano. What a shame that the story was somehow forgotten and lost; it is my hope some reader may know or research what has happened to the 'Unwilling Statue.'
I am very familiar with La Conquistadora, our country's oldest Madonna. Many years ago on a pilgrimage to Santa Fe I saw her, and was impressed by how the people had maintained a confraternity to her, and were continuing to honor her with new dresses and robes. We not only have an article on our site about her, but also one with a prayer and a brief history of her wardrobe. It was sad, but not surprising, to hear about the irreverence in the Cathedral that has the honor to host her.
I was also happy to hear about the statue of Our Lady of Good Success. Yes, she will have her way about such matters, and I am sure her Divine Infant used His influence also to be sure His beloved Mother was installed in the chapel and not the basement!
Perhaps you can consider coming to our pilgrimage to Our Lady of Bethlehem, the second oldest statue in the United States and the one that accompanied Fr. Junipero Serra on his Holy Expedition in 1769. We will have a Latin Mass again at the Carmel Basilica, and the Rosary hike on the beach to the Shining Cross. So much beautiful California history!
This year the pilgrimage will be June 8-9 (Tuesday-Wednesday).

Salve Maria!
I came across an article about Bishop Fellay in regards to the looming excommunications in which he says this:
“I prefer not to be a prophet here, but I’m pretty sure that there is an enormous probability that all of you, we included, may be excommunicated, declared schismatic, there is a very high probability because they already said it in public. So, they are so to say forcing themselves to do it. But whatever, God can do miracles. It’s not the end.”
I found this statement by Fellay to be incredibly arrogant and downright shocking. To flippantly toss aside an excommunication with the words “but whatever” when speaking to the faithful that trust him is not only disrespectful to their sentiments, but also shows a lack of seriousness for this situation. Adding “God can do miracles” is presumptuous and lazy as if they plan on doing nothing to fix this or to console the faithful and then expecting a “handout” from God.
The statement is so ridiculous that it makes one wonder what is actually going on behind the scenes at the society. If they are authentic in their resistance, then they are acting incredibly prideful and do not see the scandal such words cause. If they have already compromised with the Vatican, it seems they are giving the faithful a chance to see their real attitudes as if it’s necessary to do so before this big excommunication.
Perhaps I am seeing something that is not there. Perhaps I am just tired of false rights.
In Jesu et Maria,
N.B.
