Papal Crow, Mary’s Statue & Elias Coming

Pope Greeted by a Crow at the Mosque

Dear TIA,

While Pope Leo XIV on November 29 was visiting the Blue Mosque in Constantinople, a Hooded Crow, a bird commonly found in that city, could be heard crowing loudly throughout the televised 25 minute visit.

Although I did not watch the entire video, the crow can be heard at least five times within the first 15 minutes: at the 12:06 and 12:10 mark here, at the 12:55 mark here, again at the 13:20 mark here, quite loudly and persistently along with another crow at the 14:12 mark here, and 15:15 here.

Cornelius a Lapide makes it clear that, according to tradition and the Fathers of the Church, the crow is a symbol of guilt, darkness, sin, defilement, uncleanness and rashness.

Does it not give the impression of a devil commemorating Leo XIV's apostasy symbolized by his entrance into the mosque and his implicit acceptance of Islam?

World’s Largest Statue of Our Lady

Dear TIA,

In the first half of November, the largest statue of Our Lady of Fatima was inaugurated in the city of Crato, State of Ceará, Brazil. Surpassing the Cristo Redentor in Rio de Janeiro, this statue of Our Lady of Fatima is now the largest.

The pious story of how it came to be made is available in an article published by National Catholic Register, which I recommend that you and your audience read.

Keep up the good work.

World’s Largest Statue of Our Lady of Fatima Inaugurated in Brazil

Our Lady of Fatima Crato, Brazil

November 14, 2025 - Think of the largest and most iconic sculptures on the planet. Do the Statue of Liberty in New York or Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro come to mind?

Now, an even taller statue has debuted: the largest sculpture of Our Lady of Fatima in the world, inaugurated on Thursday in the Brazilian city of Crato.

With an impressive height of 177 feet (the equivalent of a 15-story building), the new sculpture rises in the middle of an extensive urban plain — making visible the strong Marian devotion of the region’s inhabitants, inscribing faith in the landscape itself.

With an interior made of polyurethane and an exterior composed of fiberglass membranes with resin, a gel finish and special paint, the sculpture was created in parts, which were then transported to Crato and assembled like a 3D puzzle. In total, the work took one year and five months to complete, involving a team of more than 30 people. At the same time, a new sanctuary was built around it, equipped with services for pilgrims, a replica of the Chapel of the Apparitions in Fatima, Portugal, and pastoral assistance.

Elias Will Need Knights

Good morning TIA,

Salve Maria!

I had this thought come while praying the first sorrowful mystery of the rosary. When Our Lord suffered in the garden alone, and God the Father sent an angel to comfort Him, was this because the apostles fell asleep? Is He telling us that He wants us to do His will and to fight and suffer with Our Lord but that if we do not, He will send the angels in our place? I imagine an angel would not have been sent had the apostles stayed awake with Our Lord.

I imagine had the apostles been there for Our Lord in His suffering, they would’ve been given incredible graces. Instead, they slept and the graces fell away and the angels needed to do what man could not.

Perhaps if man had not offended God throughout the past few centuries, angels would not now be preparing to come to earth to cleanse us of this sinful world. Perhaps if more knights join Elias, who is preparing to come fight, God will give the graces necessary for this fight to those brave men and not have to rely on the angels, already perfect in their wills.

How many angels will need to be sent in place of the men who will sit idly by, too afraid or unprepared to fight? How many graces and glories will men give up in our days that angels will take up to do God’s will in their place?

     In Jesu et Maria,

     N.B.

Pre-Vatican II Missionaries of Mary in India

Dear TIA,

Ave Maria Purissima !

I am a great admirer of the work of the Catechist Missionaries of Mary. In every photograph we see order and discipline among the children they teach. This photograph {below] is no exception. Sister has her catechism in one hand and her rod in the other. The children are lined up with boys first, as they should be and girls bringing up the rear. The boys have not, however, given good example to the girls. Most of them seem to have failed their test and received the cane. Hence the hands trying to stop the tears flowing and the miserable faces.

The girls now await their fate and the older ones at the back try to console each other by holding hands. Fear reigns as it should. Without fear children will not learn their lessons as they should.

Missionariy of Mary

Just why the children are outside is unclear. We see a high wall around the compound so this is either a boarding school or simply the grounds of the mission. The native children are poorly clad but clearly disciplined.

This photograph is from Nagpur in India. Hindustan was the Persian name for India. Why it is used here is not clear. India was ruled by the British at that time and they encouraged missionary work among the natives knowing the missionaries trained the people to be obedient to their rulers. This has changed of course since Vatican II.

These Sisters laid the foundation for the Catholic Faith in this pagan land. Their success can be gauged from the following information from the Archdiocese of Nagpur. In a population of 28,000 Catholics there are over 560 Religious Sisters. A wonderful achievement. Indian girls are still generally docile and obedient and very pious, so well suited to religious life. They are still accustomed to lives of sacrifice and duty in their own homes and frequent use of the rod.

God bless you.

     Yours sincerely

     C.P., Ireland
