I did not know him well, but it suffices that Mr. Amelunxen was a close friend and associate in your work. I just now saw a notice from St Rose that he died this very Christmas Eve.
I will pray for the repose of his soul and have a mass offered for that intention.
Please be assured of our thoughts and prayers for all the graces necessary to persevere in the apostolate you have been entrusted with.

Scripture References
I found your article on the symbolism of the 12 Days of Christmas very enlightening and have enjoyed reading it. But I have found that several of your scripture references were incorrect in the article.
The 1 Kings 5:24 is actually 1 Samuel 5:24. And on the Four Day your scripture reference was Psalm 18:4 and it is Psalm 19:4.
I'm sure these were just typo error. But just thought you should know.

Thank you for your observations. Shortly we will correct that article.
We encourage you or other readers to send us any corrections you find. It is a good means for us to improve our site. Unfortunately, we are just a few with many other things to do. The result is that we have to work at a high speed and there can be errors in the references and grammar.
However, the reference to 1 Kings instead of 1 Samuel we made deliberately. At TIA we do not adopt the new names the progressivists gave to some Books of the Bible after Vatican II to accommodate their ecumenical and inter-religious goals. We maintain the names that were always used by the Catholic Church.
Specifically these ecumenical modifications were/are:
- The names of the Books of Kings 1 and 2 were changed to Samuel 1 and 2;
- The names of the Books of Kings 3 and 4 were changed to Kings 1 and 2;
- The names of the Books of Paralipomenon 1 and 2 were changed to Chronicles 1 and 2;
- The name of the Book of Ecclesiasticus was changed to book of Syrah.

‘Israel Remains the Chosen People’
Fr. Culleton writes in Prophets and Our Times: “It has been told very definitely that the Jews are destined to return to Palestine towards the end of the world. According to Scripture, God did not cast the Jews off forever, nor was their dispersal intended by God to be everlasting. He promised them that in the latter times of the world’s history, the children of Israel, scattered throughout the world, would return to Palestine …. and that God would make a new and everlasting covenant with his people.”
The Jews, in punishment for their obstinate blindness, were to remain dispersed throughout the world under miseries and oppressions, till the gospel was preached to all nations; then, not long before the end of the world, the Jews would be converted, and acknowledge Jesus to be their true Messias. Haydock’s Catholic Bible Commentary. Note: See Romans xi. 25.
Fr. Haydock’s reference to Romans 11:25 is St Paul’s explanation that: “Blindness in part has happened in Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles should come in.” This has been interpreted as “when all the Gentiles that are going to come into the Church have come in.” A time of apostasy is suggested – a time when the Church becomes so weak that She is no longer capable of receiving converts.
"And Jerusalem will be trodden down by the Gentiles until the times of the nations be fulfilled.” (Luke 21:23,24). Jerusalem ceased to be trodden down by the Gentiles in 1967 when Egypt, Syria and Jordan attacked Israel only to be defeated themselves. Israel drove the Jordanians out of the occupied old city of Jerusalem and took control of East Jerusalem. This coincided with an equally extraordinary event for the Gentiles ─ the 1967 celebration of the Novus Ordo Mass.
Mr. Guimarães asks “Why did Trump take this unpopular action?” and continues, “At this time in History it (the UN) is an organism that reflects what the ensemble of nations thinks and, as such, should be taken into consideration. From this perspective, Trump made a vast mistake by going against the entire world.”
“And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone to all people; all that shall lift it up shall be rent and torn; and all the kingdoms of the earth shall be gathered together against her” Zach 12:3.
Gospel preached to all the nations, Jews return to Palestine in the latter times, an apostasy of the Gentiles! The Old and New Testament prophecies are being fulfilled in our days. May I suggest that God’s plan for Israel “be taken into consideration” rather than the UN.
In the latter times, you will understand these things Jer 30:24.

I was not very familiar with Prof. Remi Amelunxen's work, but I know that he was very special to TIA and I've heard nothing but good things about him. Therefore, I send my condolences, and I will pray for the safe repose of his soul.
