Kasper and the Talmud
|
Dear TIA,
I was wondering if the "shepherd" of the Catholic Church Card. Kasper would speak to the Catholic faithful on what he has read and knows about the Jewish "holy" book, the Talmud.
With the Church teaching ecumenism with our fallen brothers, just thought it might not be such a bad idea to enlighten the Catholics world over about some of the teachings in the Talmud, such as:
* Sanhedrin 58b. "If a heathen (Gentile) hits a Jew, the Gentile must be killed, hitting a Jew is the same as hitting God."
* Sanhedrin 57a. "A Jew need not pay a Gentile ["Cuthean"] the wages owed him for work."
* Abodah Zarah 22a-22b. "Gentiles can't be trusted with cows because they do immoral things with them, and they sexually prefer the cattle of Israelites to their own wives."
* Shabbath 116a. "Jews should destroy Christian books [ironically]."
* Yebamoth 98a. Gentiles, "whose flesh is as the flesh of asses, and whose issue is like the issue of horses," have children who are legally fatherless.
* Minor Tractates. Soferim 15, Rule 10. "Even the best of the Gentiles should be killed" (Tob shebe goyyim harog).
* Sanhedrin 57a. When a Jew murders a Gentile [Cuthean"], there will be no death penalty, and what a Jew steals from a Gentile he may keep.
* Sanhedrin 54b. "A Jewish man may marry a female child who has reached the age of three years [yes THREE years] and one day and may consummate that marriage."

Dear Friends of TIA,
I cannot tell you how much I value your site and the work you do through it. It is such a blessing and has helped to validate the concerns one holds regarding the Church and the Magisterium. Thank you for your hard work and efforts in telling the truth about the current state of affairs.
I wanted to point out something. I'm sure you have already considered and formed your own opinion on the new Nativity at the Vatican and the implications it holds. It is set in St. Joseph's carpentry shop in Nazareth where they lead you to believe Our Lady gave birth to Jesus. We know, however, from the Scriptures He was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in order to fulfill the prophecies made about the Messiah. If Jesus was not born in the specific Bethlehem (there were two at the time of His birth) He would not be the true Messiah and would therefore be an impostor.
I am stunned at the silence in the Catholic community on this subject. I was raised Protestant and memorized huge portions of the Bible, so when I hear this new setting for the Nativity, I was intensely grieved. I knew the implications of it, and what the Vatican was really saying by this outrageous display. I converted to Catholicism last Easter and my Mother, Father, and husband were reconciled with the Church after decades away. We are now in the process of bringing my older sister into the Church and hopefully my two brothers will be with us soon.
I am grieved beyond telling over the state the Church is in and the rejection of Christ that is so blatant among the rulers in the Church. I know you have been documenting this for a long time and must share in my sorrow over it.
I wrote to you to let you know that there are faithful people still out here. We have not bowed the knee to the false gods they set before us and we are continuing to fight the good fight for the Lord and for all the Saints that have gone before us. I would love to hear your opinion on the subject and I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours in Christ,
K.M.
TIA responds:
Dear K.M.,
Thank you for your encouraging words about our work. To know that there are true Catholics holding high the banner of the Church Militant means a lot to us. Continue the good fight for Our Lord, Our Lady and all the Saints. May they bless you and your family.
When we received your e-mail on December 31, we had already prepared an article, A 'Revisionist' Vatican Nativity Scene, to be posted on January 1. We invite you to read it, and hope it meets your expectations.
Keep us in your prayers, please,
Cordially,

Protestant Sola Scriptura
|
TIA,
Where the heck does it say this in the Bible?
I quote from your article: "What we know is that St. Joachim and St. Anne were of the noble lineage of David and well-off. Childless for 20 years, the priest at the temple turned away Joachim and his offering with a reproof for his barrenness. It was then that an Angel appeared separately to both St. Joachim and St. Anne, announcing that the Lord had heard their prayer, and that Anne would bear a child whom the whole world would praise. This child of predilection was Mary, whom her parents cherished and raised with the greatest reverence, goodness and abundance, as befitted their family honor and the special destiny foretold for their daughter."
No wonder you guys are so screwed up.

TIA responds:
R.H.,
In your objection we recognize the Protestant revolt against Tradition. Actually, the Bible does not tell us those details from the lives of St. Anne and St. Joachim, but a long-enduring, beautiful and solid Tradition gives them to us for our knowledge and edification.
Since you don't believe in Tradition as a source of Revelation, you are blind in one eye, which prevents you from seeing the other perspective of the message Our Lord Jesus Christ gave us. Instead of generating a humble desire to see the whole reality, this blindness generates in you a revolt. Unfortunately, this is a frequent error among Protestants, who think that sola Scriptura [the Scripture alone] is the source of Revelation.
This position was duly anathematized by the Council of Trent in its Session IV of April 8, 1546 (Denzinger, nn. 783-784), and in its Profession of Faith (ibid. n. 995).
We hope you will leave aside this error and convert to the Catholic Faith, the only one that leads to eternal salvation.
May Our Lady Seat of Wisdom enlighten you on this matter.
Cordially,
