Dancing priest in Bogota
Fr. Chucho, as he is normally known, or Fr. Jesus Herman Orjuela, his official name, is a famous Pentecostal priest whose ministry is exercised in the Divine Mercy Sanctuary in Bogota, Colombia.His "solemn masses" are usually "animated" with dancing girls, above, who provide a backdrop for his songs. He also dances while he sings, as we can see in the gifs and photos on this page, which were taken from this video of his Mass on March 30, 2025.
It is another example of a new church that spreads joy, laughter and dance, completely setting aside the Cross and Militancy, which are two of the main characteristics of the Catholic Church.
To fit into the modern world, following the norms of Vatican II, the Masses of the Conciliar Church are every day more similar to Broadway shows – or even circuses.
