Benedictine Abbot plays Highway to Hell
Above you see the Abbot Primate of the Benedictine Order Notker Wolf performing with a rock band. And what song are they playing? It is Highway to Hell, the famous rock song of the Australian band AC/DC.To evaluate what this means, we present its lyrics:
Livin' easy
Lovin' free
Season ticket on a one way ride
Askin' nothin'
Leave me be
Takin' everythin' in my stride
Don't need reason
Don't need rhyme
Ain't nothin' that I'd rather do
Goin' down
Party time
My friends are gonna be there too
I'm on the highway to Hell
On the highway to Hell
Highway to Hell
I'm on the highway to Hell
So, by performing this song, Notker Wolf endorses its lyrics and proclaims to anyone who wants to listen that he is also on the highway to Hell, or, at the least, that he considers it absolutely normal for others to take this road and boast about it to the world.
When we see the Abbot Primate of the Benedictines performing this song, we understand why the Basilica of St. Benedict – the birthplace of the Saint in Norcia – was destroyed by the recent earthquakes that took place in Italy, fifth and sixth rows.
We understand it perfectly and wonder when St. Peter will also act to express his outrage over that other star at the Vatican who is causing similar damage to his Church and to souls...
