B'nai B'rith pays homage to Benedict XVI
On February 12, 2010, Moishe Smith, president of the International Jewish Masonic organization B'nai B'rith, was received at the Vatican, above, and paid his respects to Pope Benedict XVI, offering him a picture by Mordechai Rosenstein. For details from the B'nai B'rith source, click here.
During another visit of 112 members of the B'nai B'rith to the Vatican on December 18, 2006, Benedict XVI greeted them with these words:
"I have the pleasure to greet this delegation of B’nai B’rith International on its visit to the Vatican. After the Declaration Nostra Aetate by the Second Vatican Council in 1965, the leaders of B’nai B’rith have visited the Holy See on several occasions. Today, December 18 [2006], as a mark of the spirit of understanding, respect and mutual esteem that has grown between our two communities, I welcome you and, through you, all those you represent."
