Niederauer silent on parody of the Passion
In April 2007, in the city of San Francisco, homosexuals of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence movement made a public parody of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are not aware of any protest against or reparation for this blasphemy made by Archbishop Niederauer: an incomprehensible silence...
Above, a smiling Christ is followed by two women and a man in white, who seem to represent the Holy Women and St. John.
Below first row, a bloody Christ with a satanic gaze wears a leopard thong and displays long nails painted silver. Second row, two other mockeries present Christ with rainbow and laurel crowns. Third row, a man disguised as a woman appears to represent Our Lady.
If no Church authority makes any public reparation for these offenses and no civil law forbids such outrages, each one of us, as Catholics, should call upon ourselves to make a spiritual reparation before God for such blasphemies. We invite you to do so this Lent and during the coming Holy Week.
