Book of Enoch, Suits & Sex-Change Surgeries

Praying for Fortitude & Clarity

Dear TIA,

United in the spirit of Pope St. Pius X and the Council of Trent, I have prayed for you at the Basilica of Santa Maria sopra Minerva in Rome, where the earthly remains of the Seraphic Virgin and Doctor, St. Catherine of Siena, and the Angelic Patron of Artists, Blessed Fra Angelico, are enshrined.

I placed your apostolate and its vital Counter-Revolutionary work under their powerful intercession. I asked the Holy Ghost to grant you continued fortitude and clarity in resisting the errors of modernism and progressivism, remaining ever faithful to the immutable Traditions of the Holy Church.

Christus Vincit! Christus Regnat! Christus Imperat!

Book of Enoch

Dear TIA,

I have been asking around about the Book of Enoch, but cannot find any answers that seem reliable from a trusted Catholic source, so I was hoping that you could help with a detailed answer.

The Book of Enoch: it is being discussed more in popular culture - for example Candace Owens just yesterday (on the most popular podcast in the world) encouraged "everyone" to go read it. My questions are:

Is it ok to read?

Does it contain errors against the faith, or historical errors?

Could reading it be dangerous to one's faith? Or is it ok for just anyone to pick up and read?

Was it "removed" from the Bible, or never part of the Bible at all? (I saw a mainstream news source claimed it was "removed," but that does not seem accurate to me.)

And is there a source where can we get accurate answers about this or read more about the history behind the book?

     Thank you very much,

     R.M.

TIA responds:

Dear R.M.,

As soon as the Catholic Church was founded and established in Jerusalem and Rome, the enemies started to attack her. The persecutions of the Roman Emperors against Catholics were the fruit of intrigues of those enemies, who filled their ears with the accusation that the Church was against the idols. The same enemies attacked her also by spreading a great deal of apocryphal literature among Catholics to confuse them about the sources for their doctrine.

The Book of Enoch is part of that wave of falsely authored literature. Regarding its origin, it became known from that early time in the Church. It is probably a compilation of various documents from different epochs that were put together by someone at that time. It is not from the time of the Prophet Enoch, as the name suggests.

Its main subject matter regards the relations of fallen angels with women and men that generated a race of giants – the Nephilim – who strove to corrupt mankind. Although this may be true – Anne Catherine Emmerick sees in her visions something similar – other points of the book are not sound.

Those points include the names given to these fallen angels, which are not approved by the Church; its doctrine on the origin of the Cosmos; disputable concepts of astrology; a fantastic coming of the Messiah and the end of the world.

St. Jerome, who had at hand all the possible documents to include in the Vulgata, did not consider it authentic. So, it was never "removed" from the BIble, because it was never included in it.

The Catholic Church treats the Book of Enoch as part of the profuse apocryphal literature that polluted Catholic ambiences in her first centuries.

It is better for Catholics to avoid reading it.

Men’s Clothing in Tropical Climates

Dear Tradition in Action,

As a young man reared unintentionally in the modern revolutionary culture, I am trying to unlearn much of what I had learnt as a child.

I am an Australian, where summers are much warmer than most of the world. I may have missed pertinent information in your articles on dress, but I am discouraged by my parents from wearing any pants in the summertime. What type or material of pants is best suited to a warmer climate? What do you recommend me to wear with regard to shirts?

     Thank you sincerely,

     N.S., Australia

The Knights of Elias respond:

Dear N.S.,

Salve Maria!

TIA forwarded me your email. I am a young supporter of theirs and support dignity in dress no matter the climate. The Australian men of the past made no excuses and wore suits even in hot weather. In the photo below left you see men in the 1950s. At right is how the streets of Melbourne looked in the 1950s

.
Melbourne men

The standard for men is to cover themselves down to their ankles. This means no shorts at all. TIA has a good article on the history of shorts and why they should not be worn. Also, men should keep their arms covered down to their wrists. The only exception I know that TIA supports is rolling up one's sleeves when working.

Keeping both the arms and legs covered is a good baseline for all of the various outfits you may want to wear even when doing blue collar work. I enjoy wearing henley shirts and dark khaki chino pants when doing labor outside to maintain dignity even when working with my hands. Keeping oneself covered is also a good way to stay cool as I have read that exposing one's skin to the sun can actually make us warmer than if we were covered. The key, then, is to wear light material that sufficiently blocks the sun and covers the body.

My recommendation is to buy linen and tropical wool materials for your suit jacket and pants. Merino wool is a good tropical wool and I read that it was a favored material among Australians in times past. As for shirts, on a personal note I have worn linen shirts and always felt that the minimal increase in coolness was not worth the scratchy feeling of the linen. A 100% cotton shirt is both cool and comfortable.

I have a quick note on style: Do not wear a two-piece suit for normal occasions. Americans first started the trend of "suit separates" where they would wear a different style jacket on top from their pants on the bottom. This created a more casual look and was used for less formal occasions than at work, such as when one was on vacation. I recommend following this trend and separate your styles so that you do not look too "stuffy" for normal occasions.

TIA has a great series on the tie as well and this should not be avoided. A collared shirt is meant to have a tie and the revolution has sought to remove it from our formal outfits to further weaken our dignity.

It will be a cross at first to dress this way, but with prayer and perseverance you will overcome the anxiety and judging eyes of others.

I will pray an Ave to get you started and hope that you add more dignity to the Australian world.

     In Jesu et Maria,

     N.B.

Sex-Change Surgeries

Dear TIA,

It is an interesting thing that those same youth who asked for “change of sex” and underwent surgeries for this purpose, now regret their actions and open lawsuits against the clinics/doctors who induced them to perform those procedures.

Actually, these surgeries are monstrosities that should not be permitted by law. Those who ask for them sin gravely against nature as well as those who perform them.

As a result of one monstrosity we have other atrocities: We have seen that the mass-shootings in recent years were often actions of transgenders or people closely linked to them.

It is a good sign that some people are coming to their senses.

P.S. I am attaching an article addressing this topic

As Lawsuits Multiply, Transgender Reversal Movement Gains Momentum

Dan Hart

Lawsuits filed by young people who were permanently disfigured by procedures attempting to reassign gender are multiplying, and more and more professional medical associations are backing away from endorsing the procedures for minors. Experts like Walt Heyer, who formerly spent eight years living a transgender lifestyle, say it’s just the beginning of a burgeoning movement.

On January 30, a New York jury awarded 22-year-old woman Fox Varian $2 million after she sued a psychologist and a plastic surgeon for deviating from standard medical practice and informed consent when they pushed her toward getting a double mastectomy at the age of 16 amid feelings of confusion over her identity as a female. Three weeks later, the Center For American Liberty announced that a court date of April 5 had been set for Chloe Cole, the 21-year-old national advocate against transgender procedures, who is suing Kaiser Foundation Hospitals for greenlighting gender reassignment procedures that included a double mastectomy and hormones when she was only 15.

The rapidly changing landscape toward widespread disavowal of so-called gender reassignment procedures for minors is now enveloping professional medical associations, who were once the primary advocates of the procedures. On February 3, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) became the first major medical association to publicly recommend against the procedures for minors, stating that surgeons should “delay gender-related breast/chest, genital, and facial surgery until a patient is at least 19 years old.” In response to ASPS’s announcement, the American Medical Association (AMA) appeared to partially reverse its position as well, stating that it “agrees with ASPS that surgical interventions in minors should be generally deferred to adulthood.”
