A Saint & Sound Francis, Tyranny of ‘Rights’
‘Francis Is a Great Theologian’
Dear TIA,
It seems that those who pretend there is a fight between Francis and Benedict XVI will have to shut up.
Indeed, after reading this news report we have further evidence that both are on the same boat. Benedict goes public to defend Francis as a sound theologian and philosopher… The pretext for Benedict's remark is his reading some books published on “Francis’ Theology.”
So, now we know that Pope Bergoglio is a scholar… Those who believe Benedict is the true Pope while Francis is an usurper have to believe what Benedict himself says.
Next, Benedict may canonize Francis and vice-versa, Francis may canonize Benedict so that all conciliar Popes will be “saints,” even those who are still alive. Great!
I hope God will look at this progressivist oppression and stop it while we still have some remnants of the Catholic Church on earth.
Go ahead TIA! You are part of the few who still are preaching what the Church always was.
In Christ through Mary,
M.C.

Far from the Altar
TIA,
The latest in the excellent series on the Mass mess by Carol Bryne seems to show that in the late ‘40s and early ‘50s already one of the main goals of those who hated the fully Traditional Mass was to separate the priest from the altar as much as possible.
My late priest friend, who was ordained in 1951, said with the N.O. Mass everyone else says the Mass while the priest just sits on his chair.
St. Pius V, pray for us.
S.M.

Beauty, Truth & Faith
Dear TIA,
Maybe beauty is not dead.... maybe...
I explained Mr. Guimarães' post: How Tribalism Becomes Satanism briefly to Fr. J.G. as we were driving to Columbus for a late night sick call at a hospital.
He thought about what I had told him for a bit and said, "Beauty is dead." That is all. I did not respond.
We drove on into the dark Ohio night...
Five hours for fifteen minutes with woman after a very long day for him. She died the next morning; little doubt she was in a state of valid and licit Grace. Truth. Beauty.
Our St. Pius V priests are heroic. Often. true priests. Truth. Beauty. That is all.
Thank you,
E.K.

Ireland Fighting against Abortion
TIA,
Here is a good response from what is still Catholic in Catholic Ireland.
A Crowd Of 100,000 Came to Support the Anti-Abortion Eighth Amendment
Niamh Uí Bhriain of Save the 8th said that the crowds who thronged Dublin city centre showed that the government’s abortion proposal had woken a sleeping giant and that the campaign now expected a surge in volunteers to work towards a No vote in the abortion referendum in May.
“These huge numbers are a rising of the people against the media and political elites and against the powerful international abortion industry who have poured millions into a campaign attacking our pro-life laws. Ireland is at a defining point in our history, and we are challenging the people to reject the abortion industry and to demand a better answer for mothers and babies,” she said. “Abortion has no place in a compassionate and progressive society.”
Some lacunas.
She forgot to say "CATHOLIC" society.
And, if it were really a sleeping giant awakened, with almost 4 million Irish who call themselves Catholics, there should have been at least a half million at the rally!
But, keep going, Catholic Ireland. Don't be ashamed by those radicals who are insisting on joining the modern world and making killing babies legal.

Indiscriminate Rights Create Chaos
TIA,
Re: LGBT Activists Bring Lawsuit against Small Town that Banned Gay Pride Parade
AXIOM: “Rights” possess a strict correlative duty, and are not dominions over things to use as one pleases; otherwise anarchy results.
America today is dominated by the discourse on rights. What started as a careful delineation of political prerogatives and protections as outlined in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution has devolved into the chaos of a free-for-all of personal and collective claims and counter-claims involving the legitimization of any 'felt need,' regardless of how insane, with no concern whatsoever for societal common good.
We see a completely subjectivist situational ethics that has enveloped the discourse on rights, causing confusion and disorder. It’s Kantian “I’m OK, you’re OK,” with each individual defining his or her own rights universes as they see fit with no concern for the inevitable collision with the rights of their neighbors - in the absence of universal moral absolutes that are immutable.
One can legitimately ask, “Am I really OK with societal acceptance of your vices?” Or more to the point “Are you really OK?”
We’re living in an America unrecognizable to the founding fathers, an America firmly in the grip of tyranny where the constitutional freedom of religion rights of people of faith are summarily trashed under force of unjust law to the extent that their livelihood and lives are destroyed at the whim of those who demand that any opposition to their morally bankrupt agenda must not stand.
We’re talking about unalienable God-given rights per the Declaration of Independence which no man can take away, rights which were secured by the blood of our fallen forefathers; nowhere in the Constitution is it found that people of faith must check that faith at the door upon entering public life.
No tyrannical edict of any type - executive, legislative, judicial - on any level - local, state, federal - trumps the laws of nature and of nature’s God, the obedience to which was deemed necessary by the founders to promote the common good necessary for America’s survival. This is a seminal truth understood by people of faith who have a right to live by it without fear of persecution.
Responsible parents justly discriminate between right and wrong behavior all the time; else they cease being responsible. Similarly, responsible states must do the same for the sake of the common good.
A civilized society must justly "discriminate" in favor of health over disease, right over wrong, moral over immoral, discriminate use of sexuality over indiscriminate sexual expression. The death and dying statistics speak to the consequences of nondiscrimination in this context.
In short, the Alphabet Soup Crowd can go pound sand with their unconstitutional demands that are owed no obedience whatsoever by people still capable of rational thought!

Another brilliant comment by Pope Francis: He thinks he is in the waiting list of future saints.
"There are two bishops of Rome (recent) who are already saints," he said in reference to John XXIII and John Paul II. "Paul VI will be named a saint this year. One with the cause of beatification in progress, John Paul I, his cause is open. "
"And Benedict and I on the waiting list: pray for us!"
