Counter-Revolution in the Philippines
A Counter-Revolutionary Sprouts
|
Dear Tradition in Action,
I am a housewife and mother of two whose concern for the well-being of my children led me, by God's grace, to discover the true Catholic Church. All my life I have known nothing but the conciliar Church and its abominations. My discovery made me indignant at having been kept ignorant about the Church's rich Tradition.
I have been robbed of my heritage as a Catholic. I have searched the internet for whatever information I could find on the Traditionalist movement and among the many sites I have visited, yours have been the most truthful, faithful and authoritative.
I have read many articles in your site and I find all of them very helpful, to say the least. I am very grateful to God for having led me to your site and to you for putting up Tradition in Action. I am now committed to being a counter-revolutionary.
I am saddened, however, by the news reports concerning the SSPX. Here in my country, the Philippines, the SSPX priests are the only ones who administer all the Sacraments according to the pre-Vatican II rites. If they, too, give up the fight and compromise, to whom will I turn?
That's why TIA is, for me, like a lighthouse helping me and my family to navigate the rough seas of the conciliar Church. In this vein, I would like to ask you for a list of books which you consider as essential reading for a new counter-revolutionary like me. I am ignorant of so many things regarding the crisis in the Church and I'm at a loss where to start.
Your help and guidance would be very invaluable.
Thank you very much. May God always bless you!
In the Heart of Mary,
G.R. - Christi crux est mea lux
TIA responds:
Dear G.R.,
It is truly an honor for us to have merited your trust in such a profound way. It is expressions like yours in this letter that encourage us to continue fighting in the Church and in the world against the apparently victorious Revolution.
May Our Lady conserve you in these good dispositions and increase your union and your family’s union with her.
We recommend you three basic books to read, re-read and carefully study:
- Revolution and Counter-Revolution by Prof. Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira. It will give you the full panorama of the crisis in which we are living today. You may read it here.
- Treatise of the True Devotion to Mary by St. Louis Grignion de Monfort. It will show you how to follow that powerful Lady who became the Mother of God and can make us one with her, if we so desire. Read it here
- The Soul of The Apostolate by Dom Chautard. It will help you understand that everything visible and material relies on the invisible and spiritual. It will invite you to progress in your spiritual life. You may read it here.
These are the gifts we offer you after receiving from you the good news of your becoming a counter-revolutionary.
Cordially,

Authority of Vatican II?
TIA,
I would invite friends of the Chapel to please review Part 1 [Was Vatican II an Infallible Council?] on the scope and authority of the Second Vatican Council that will be posted on the chapel.
I believe that the simple, straight forward, easy to understand presentation will help souls comprehend what Vatican II was. We need only look into the minds of those who were present at the Council.
Rather than listen to or read extremists (both of the right wing and the left) let us see Vatican II for what it is: a non-infallible Council that certainly did err. That the Holy Ghost had protected the Church (Vatican II is a proof of this!) will be easy to see.
Please take the time to read this first part in this series.

Beatifications & Canonizations
TIA,
It seems that you have made an excellent argument for additional actions by B16... JPII, Mother Theresa of Calcutta, and who knows how many more!!
Keep up the good work.

Pre-Planned Beatification?
|
Dear TIA,
I found this article on the upcoming beatification of JPII very interesting, especially this quote, "Dziwisz was advised by Joaquin Navarro-Vals the spokesman of the Vatican at the time, to retain the blood sample."
I am wondering if it is common for a Vatican spokesman, who is a member of Opus Dei, or for anyone in the Vatican for that matter, to retain human biological specimens as possible pre-planned relics? Is there a precedent for this? Or is it possible that the Cause for Canonization was planned even before his death for the purpose of increased credibility for the cult like Movements he gave sanction to?
The late Pope's widely publicized friendship with the now infamous Fr. Maciel, along with the other scandals during his reign as Pontiff, seem to warrant a longer time of investigation for the sainthood proceedings. Never before was a Pope made to have such a Public Relation Image. I can remember the wild, organized shouts coming from the Legion's Regnum Christi members wherever the Pope visited, "John Paul II, we love you!" They all appeared to be vying for press attention as favorites of the Papacy.
Now there are questions concerning another cult like group he sanctioned.
It seems to me with all the emphasis on ’unity' during his pontificate, we are left with more disunity as Catholics than ever before in history.
Sincerely,
M.D.
TIA responds:
Dear M.D.,
Thank you for sending us your comments.
Regarding your question about whether it is common “to retain human biological specimens” of a loved person, we know from the biographies of St. Therese of Lisieux that some novices at her Convent used to look for the discarded pieces of her cut nails to keep them as a remembrance of her.
We also know of some very good Catholics in Ecuador who treasure parts of the clothing of Garcia Moreno soaked with his blood that he was wearing on the day he was murdered on the order of Freemasonry. Garcia Moreno is not yet a saint or a blessed.
In common life, it is not unusual for a wife to keep a small quantity of the hair of her husband or vice-versa, the husband keeps a strand of his wife’s hair, especially when the other spouse dies. Mothers often keep hair of their children when they were infants as a memory of their childhood.
We believe these are common Catholic practices that reveal esteem.
So, the fact of keeping a vial with JPII’s blood does not necessarily mean that there was a pre-plan for him to be beatified or canonized. It could have been done just as an expression of admiration.

Increasingly Difficult To Believe
Dear TIA,
Everything seems dismal; now JPII following in the footsteps of Mother Teresa and Escrivá.
We were always taught to believe that a person was a saint if the Church said so. This is becoming increasingly difficult to believe. Soon, as George Orwell explains, the use of Newspeak will prevent everyone from even thinking a heretical thought.

God bless you in your wonderful apostolate,

Vatican II Canonized
TIA,
I read that Pope Benedict XVI said that everyone who knew or admired John Paul II shares his joy that he will beatify his predecessor on May 1 — a ceremony in St. Peter's Square that could bring 2 million people into Rome.
This is the canonization of Vatican II and all its errors!
In Jesus through Mary,
J.P.
