Calvinists & Protestants - Pro and Con
No Problem with Glutttony
|
Greetings,
As a former Protestant, I am writing to complain about this article. Gluttony is a venial sin unless it degenerates into drunkenness, drug intoxication, and what we call bulimia. Therefore, gluttony will usually not damn your soul to Hell, unless you make your appetite into your god.
On the other hand, being a Protestand WILL damn your soul to Hell, because there is no salvation outside the Catholic Church. That's what your readers need to hear, not metaphors about Protestant attitudes towards eating.
Being raised with the false notion of universal salvation, it took me a long time to grasp the fact that religious beliefs matter to God. It also took me a long time to understand that religious beliefs are moral choices, and if you make the wrong ones, you wil be damned for all of eternity.
It would also be helpful to explain where Protestantism comes from. It was founded by those who have worked ceaselessly to destroy the Catholic religion for 2,000 years and have been the father of all heresies within the Catholic Church. See The Plot Against the Church by Maurice Pinay.
Regards,
C.M.R.
Accurate Description
Hello,
A harsh but (in my experience) accurate description of Protestant character traits. Did the Professor depict the traits of other Protestant sects? I would be interested in his sketches (if he made any) of, say, the Anglican and Pentecostal mentalities.
God Bless,
T.D.
