Don’t sit on the table at an interview with the Pope
In a scandalous interview with young people discussing their bad lives and faith “experiences,” Pope Francis was also complacent with their casual attitudes and clothing.Once youth dressed with the greatest decorum and followed the proper protocol of kneeling to kiss the ring of the Pope on those privileged occasions when they were granted a private meeting.
Today, sad to say, we see the very opposite. The young woman at left, in shorts, a backwards-placed baseball cap, and tennis shoes, sits cross-legged on the table and hugs one bare knee with her hands. The young woman with the low cut blouse and ragged blue jeans gives a spontaneous laugh and claps her hands, as if she were at a casual backyard picnic, and not in an interview with the Sovereign Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church.
Their dress and demeanor make a stark contrast with the adults behind them, who stand straight and respectfully and are dressed in dark suits and ties. However, their broad grins and warm expressions show they fully accept this new behavior and way of being of youth who are given the honor of speaking with the Pope.
No one should dress in casual clothing and act in a vulgar manner when he is in the presence of persons who hold high offices.
Don't sit on the table at an interview with the Pope.
